Delivery & Pickup Logistics
How quickly can CAM’s deliver a dumpster?
Delivery availability depends on scheduling and dumpster availability. During the off-season, next-day delivery may be available. During busy season, delivery may be about two days out. Contact CAM’s directly for current delivery times.
Are same-day or next-day deliveries available?
Availability depends on scheduling and inventory. Contact CAM’s directly for availability.
Can I schedule delivery and pickup for specific days?
Customers can request specific delivery and pickup days, subject to availability. Exact delivery times are not guaranteed because scheduling depends on route planning, traffic, and site conditions.
When does the rental period begin?
The rental period begins the day after the dumpster is delivered.
How long can I keep my dumpster?
Dumpster rentals include up to two weeks at no additional charge.
Can I rent a dumpster for just one day?
Yes, customers may finish loading sooner and call CAM’s for pickup when ready. Standard pricing includes up to two weeks, but the dumpster does not need to stay on site for the full rental period.
Can I extend my rental period?
Yes. Additional rental time is available for $5 per day after the initial two-week rental period.
What happens if I keep the dumpster longer than two weeks?
After two weeks, there is a $5 per day rental fee until the dumpster is picked up.
What if I finish with the dumpster early?
You can call CAM’s anytime to schedule an earlier pickup.
How do I schedule a dumpster pickup?
Please call CAM’s directly to place a pickup order. Dumpsters are not automatically scheduled for pickup.
How much notice do I need to give for pickup?
Customers should contact CAM’s as soon as they know they are ready for pickup. Pickup timing depends on scheduling, route availability, and site access.
Do dumpsters get picked up automatically?
No. Customers must contact CAM’s when they are ready for removal.
What should I do before my dumpster is delivered?
Clear the delivery area of vehicles, low-hanging branches, and other obstacles.
What should I do before pickup?
Ensure the dumpster is accessible and not blocked by cars, materials, or equipment.
How much space is needed for dumpster delivery?
The delivery truck needs enough driveway or street access, overhead clearance from wires or branches, and room to safely back in, unload, and place the dumpster.
Do the dumpsters have doors for easier loading?
All CAM’s dumpsters have doors that allow customers to walk heavier items in instead of lifting everything over the side.
What if my driveway is sloped or narrow?
Please notify CAM’s ahead of time so the driver can determine safe placement options.
What happens if the truck cannot access my property?
Delivery or pickup may need to be rescheduled if there are obstacles, unsafe conditions, or insufficient clearance.
What happens if the dumpster is blocked for pickup?
If the dumpster cannot be removed on the scheduled pickup date because it is blocked, there will be a $100 trip charge.
What happens if the dumpster freezes to the ground?
Customers may be responsible for clearing snow, ice, or frozen debris that prevents safe removal. In winter, keep the area around the dumpster accessible and clear when possible.
Can rain or snow make my dumpster overweight?
Yes. There are drainage holes on the bottom of the dumpsters. Rain, snow, and ice can add weight to the contents of a dumpster, especially with absorbent materials such as wood, carpet, sheetrock, cardboard, and household debris. Customers are responsible for the final disposal weight.
Can I move the dumpster after delivery?
No. Please contact CAM’s if the dumpster needs to be relocated.
Can I move the dumpster myself?
No. Dumpsters should only be moved by CAM’s equipment and drivers.
What is the cost to relocate a dumpster?
On-site relocations are $100. Off-site relocations are $150.
What is considered an off-site relocation?
An off-site relocation means moving the dumpster to a different address or property. Moving the dumpster to another spot on the same property is considered an on-site relocation.
How full can I load the dumpster?
Materials should not extend above the top rim of the dumpster to ensure safe transport.
How high can materials be loaded?
Debris must remain level with the top edge of the dumpster for safe transportation.
Why can’t debris stick out over the top of the dumpster?
Debris must remain level with the top edge of the dumpster. Overfilled dumpsters cannot be safely transported, may require unloading before pickup, and may violate road safety regulations. CAM’s truck tarps must be able to cover the top of the dumpster entirely before pickup.
Why can’t I overfill the dumpster if I’m paying for it?
Overfilled dumpsters are unsafe to transport and may violate road safety regulations.
Can I put bags next to the dumpster if it’s full?
No. All debris must fit safely inside the dumpster.
What happens if I accidentally overload the dumpster?
Overweight dumpsters may result in additional disposal fees billed at $225 per ton prorated. Please also refer to the Sizing & Pricing page.
What happens if I go over the weight limit?
Any weight over the included limit is charged at $225 per ton, prorated. Please also refer to the Sizing & Pricing page.
Can I place heavy items at the bottom of the dumpster?
Yes, for allowed materials, distributing weight evenly throughout the dumpster is recommended for safe hauling. Prohibited heavy materials such as concrete, dirt, brick, asphalt, gravel, and stone still cannot be placed in a standard dumpster. Please refer to the Prohibited Items & Fees page.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster rental?
Permits may be required if the dumpster will be placed on a public street, sidewalk, or other public property. Customers should check with their local municipality before delivery.
Can the dumpster be placed in the street?
Yes, in some cases, but a permit is required by your city or town.
Can the dumpster block sidewalks or roadways?
No, not without proper permitting. Dumpsters cannot block public sidewalks or roads unless the city or town allows it and the proper permit is obtained.
